Since Ascendent ID’s readers and tags operate in the 2.45GHz range, the inherent wavelength used by our systems is shorter than that of other lower frequency systems. Shorter wavelength allows us to use antennas that are substantially smaller than those of lower frequency systems to transmit and receive information between the reader and tags. For wind load, versatility, and aesthetics, this can be extremely important. Ascendent ID’s typical system is shipped with linearly polarized antennas for the optimum read range and isolation between read zones.
